Micro Aerospace Solutions Propulsion

…innovation at low-cost

Micro Aerospace Solutions provides low-cost, yet innovative solutions to small satellite system design and development.

Our micropropulsion, attitude control and attitude detection systems provide a leap ahead in the capabilities of small-, nano- and even picosatellites.

We have developed micropropulsion modules for nanosatellites, gel propellant main propulsion modules, hybrid systems and monopropellant 750 pound thrust engines.

Micropropulsion

There is an increasing need for on-board propulsion systems for small and nanospacecraft.  These include upper stage engines to boost spacecraft into final orbits as well as very small scale boosters to launch new 1 kg class payloads for military, commercial and scientific applications.

We recently completed a NASA SBIR contract to use gel propellants in a satellite orbital boost engine.  Gel propellants have several advantages over either liquid or solid propellants.  These include safety, gels won't leak or ignite by electro-static discharge.  A bullet impact won't ignite a gel propellant system.  Gel fuels and oxidizers can use the same tank since the propellants won't mix until they undergo shear stress when injected into the chamber. Gels are an excellent choice for propulsion of x-prize and America’s Space Prize vehicles.

We are developing small bi-propellant liquid-fueled rocket engines using hydrogen peroxide and kerosene with a thrust levels from 150 lbf to over 1,000 lbf.  Also under development is a booster to use these engines in a cluster as well as development of storable and non-toxic propulsion systems.
